WARWICKSHIRE SCHOOLGIRL HAS
“WARTS AND ALL” ENCOUNTER WITH FAIRYTALE FROG…
Warwickshire schoolgirl, Jodie Smith, had a warts and all encounter when she came face to face with a humongous one and a half kilogram, African Bullfrog, Mungo at Warwick Castle over the half term holiday. The seven year old aspiring model was roped in to become a fairtytale frog-kissing princess for the attraction’s Easter publicity photos and despite his grotesque visage, Mungo made a firm friend in Jodie.
“I was a bit surprised at how big he was when I first saw him and thought YUK!” said the diddy damsel. “I had to hold him on a cushion and pretend to kiss him like the frog princess and it took both hands he was so huge. But he was really sweet and I almost wanted to give him a little kiss to see if he would turn into a prince!”
Her co-star, Mungo, is a professional frog model, who currently stars in a Creepy Crawly Roadshow and is in much demand for his striking size.
Annual season ticket holder, Jodie, is a frequent visitor to Warwick Castle and has often dreamed of becoming a fairytale princess. For the photo shoot she was decked out in full princess costume in keeping with the knights and princesses theme of the Castle’s Easter activities. Georgina Kelly, Head of Sales and Marketing at Warwick Castle said “Not only was Jodie a great sport and very brave when faced with such a huge frog, she also made a fantastic Fairytale Princess”. Georgina went on to say that “Warwick Castle will be alive over the Easter period with mediaeval knights and princessess. Not only can visitors participate in the Knights School and take classes in armoury, weaponry and sword play, they can also help the dashing prince decide which of the three fairytale princesses is most deserving of his hand, and outwit the wicked Queen”.
