WARWICK CASTLE PLANS TO REFORM ROMANCE SLOBS
WITH VALENTINE’S CHIVALRY SCHOOL

Hope is at hand for long-suffering sweethearts whose other halves are rubbish at romance. According to the British Retail Council* over half the population do not spend money on their Valentine’s at all and many who do have their gifts swiftly returned.  In an effort to reform anyone whose idea of an amorous Valentine’s gift is a bunch of flowers from the local garage, the Knights at Warwick Castle are offering to re-educate romance slobs with a lesson in good old fashioned courtship and chivalry this Valentine’s Day.   “Valentine’s Victims” simply have to nominate their partners for a chance to secure a place at Chivalry School and change them forever.

Under the tutelage of the Castle’s chief Knight, Rich Hall,  pupils will be taught how to treat their partners to romance, courtesy and thorough thoughtfulness by taking a leaf out of the mediaeval book of Knightly Etiquette.  Topics such as laying a table and serving your lady a meal, the art of romantic conversation, sincere flattery and reading and writing passionate poetry will be covered.

“There was a very strict code of conduct when it came to Knightly romance and modern men could certainly learn a thing or two about love and courtship,” says Hall.  “We came up with the idea after hearing so many of the women at the castle moaning about the rubbish gifts – or total lack of romance – from their boyfriends or husbands on Valentine’s Day.  We’re asking ladies - and gents are welcome too - who’ve had terrible experiences with their unromantic partners to nominate them for a Knightly make-over and a place in the Chivalry classroom.  We want to get people woo-ing again!  Romance doesn’t have to be about buying extravagant presents; it’s often the smallest gestures that make the biggest impact.”

Any girlfriends/boyfriends, wives or husbands wanting to get their other half a place at Chivalry School (and a Valentine’s Day date at the ultimate Romantic castle into the bargain), just need to tell the Knights at Warwick Castle the most unromantic thing they’ve ever done.    Postcards to Marketing Department, Warwick Castle, Warwick, CV34 4QU, with name, address and telephone by Thursday 7th February.
