Disabled Annual Passes

A disabled guest is entitled to a complimentary carer pass when making the purchase of an individual annual pass. This pass must be purchased full price, and must be upon presentation of ‘proof of disability’.

The Carer pass does not have a photo on this so can be transferred.

Purchasing an Annual Pass or Privilege Pass with Tesco Deals tokens:

Tesco Clubcard deal tokens are not to be used against any pre-booked, discount, concessionary, corporate, or group rates. Tokens can only be used on the full walk up entry price, and with a valid deal token.

I want to buy the new Merlin Annual Pass...

The NEW Merlin Annual Pass is available through the following channels:

  • online from attraction websites,
  • over the phone
  • Onsite at any of the participating attractions.

A pass can be purchased at the following attractions from the following dates in 2008:

  • Alton Towers Resort from 9th to 24th February or from 15th March
  • Madame Tussauds from 9th February
  • Warwick Castle from 9th February
  • SEA LIFE & Dungeons from 12th February
  • THORPE PARK from 16th February
  • The London Eye from 16th February
  • Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo from 10th March (park open 15th March)
  • LEGOLAND® Windsor from 15th March

Please note: Online purchases will not be available for collection or sent out until the system is ready on the dates above. Merlin Annual Passes are available for purchase but not for collection from, SEA LIFE, Dungeons or Sanctuaries.

Fulfilment at SEA LIFE & Dungeons:

Please note that at these sites are unable to print the annual pass card, but don’t worry you can still purchase your pass. Once you have purchased the desired pass you will be issued with a voucher detailing your purchase.

Then attach your till receipt to this voucher, then when you visit either Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND® Windsor, THORPE PARK, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo, The London Eye, Madame Tussauds and Warwick Castle.

The same process applies for Tesco and Nectar vouchers at these sites.

I have an existing Tussauds Annual Pass...

Is it still valid?

Yes. Your pass is still valid to the relevant expiry date. Please not that you will not be able to renew this pass, but don’t worry, you will be offered the renewal rate** for the NEW Merlin Annual Pass if you wish to carry on your membership

Is my pass valid for LEGOLAND® Windsor, SEA LIFE and the Dungeons?

I’m afraid it is not. Your pass is still valid at Alton Towers Resort, THORPE PARK, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo, the London Eye, Madame Tussauds and Warwick Castle. But when your card expires you will be given the option to purchase a Merlin Annual Pass at the renewal rate** of just £100 individual £300 family.

What about the international attractions?

Yes - your Annual Pass is still valid for entry into Portaventura, Heide Park and International Madame Tussauds attractions. This benefit only applies to Tussauds Annual Pass holders and will only be available for the validity of this membership (until the pass is renewed).

I have a Tesco Voucher valid for the Tussauds Annual Pass, but I have not redeemed this yet...

Is it still valid?

Yes. If your voucher is still within the 6 month validity date of issue, then this is still valid for redemption at any of the following attractions: Alton Towers Resort, THORPE PARK, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo, The London Eye, Madame Tussauds and Warwick Castle. Attraction entry for this pass are for the attractions state previously

Can I exchange this voucher for a NEW Merlin Annual Pass?

Yes you can, when you visit one of our attractions, for a £15 upgrade fee we will issue you with a New Merlin Annual Pass.

N.B THIS UPGRADE IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR TESCO CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE NOT YET REDEEMED THEIR VOUCHERS.

Notes

  • Carer Pass is Complimentary. Please note that any additional Carers will need to pay the full rate for an individual pass.
  • An Individual Pass can be an adult or child.
  • A Family Pass consists of 2 adults and 2 children under 12 years or 1 adult and 3 children under 12 years old
  • Foster Families. This is a frequently asked question. The Family Annual Pass can not be transferred from child to child and the cards can not be left blank. This is for security reasons and there are no exceptions to the rule.
  • Renewal prices are valid within one month of pass lapsing.

Where can I buy an Annual Pass?

This is a really easy process, all you have to is to decide how you want to purchase it and leave the rest up to us!

Visit your local attraction:

All attractions have Annual Pass kiosks, where you are able to purchase your new Annual Pass. All they will ask you to do is fill in an application form, make payment, then ‘smile for the camera’ as they take your picture for your new card. You will receive your card on the day you purchase it.

Online:

Each attraction web site has the facility for you to purchase your pass online, except The London Eye & SEA LIFE

Once you have chosen what pass you require, entered your details, and made payment, you will be able to print off your receipt, and take it to the attraction that you purchased the pass through.

Upon arrival take your receipt to the Annual Pass Kiosk, where they will take your picture and print your pass.

If you would prefer to talk to someone about the Annual Pass, and make payment over the phone, you are able to do this as well.

You can either collect your Annual Pass from the attraction that you purchased it through or it can be posted to you. If you require your Annual Pass to be posted to you, once payment is received you will be sent a form to fill out and asked to send it to the relevant attraction address.

How can I pay for my Annual Pass?

Our attractions offer a wide range of payment methods. You can choose between Cash, Cheque or all major credit and debit cards.

Online

Each of our attractions have a secure booking system that allows you to make a payment for your Annual Pass on line. All major credit and debit cards are accepted, with the exception of Electron, Solo, Discover & Amex

Via the Contact Centre

Our Contact Centre is also very flexible when taking payment for our Annual Passes. They can accept all major credit and debit cards (with the exception of Electron, Solo, Discover & Amex), BACS, CHAPS and Cheques.

This Pass does not allow entry into our International Attractions

What is an Individual pass?

An individual pass can be for an adult or a child and this is priced the same.

What is a family pass?

We have based this pass on our family ticket package in our theme parks. This means that a family annual pass consists of two individuals over the age of 12 and two individuals under the age of 12 or 1 adult and 3 children under 12 years old.

Will my child require a pass?

All children under the age of 12 require a pass, whether it is an individual pass or as part of a family pass. However, if the child is under 1 metre in height they are entitled to free entry to our attractions, so no pass will be required in this instance.

Can I add additions to my family pass?

I’m afraid that as this ticket is based on a family ticket of 4 people this is not possible. However an additional individual passes can be bought.

I am a Guest with a disability, what exclusive Annual Pass package do you offer?

As a guest with a disability, we understand the need for independency and want to work with you to enjoy out attractions. To this end we have put together a package for our Annual Pass that entitles you to the following:

  • Complimentary Carer pass
    This is transferable and is not tied to a particular person for the period of your membership.
  • Access to attractions Disability scheme
    For further details and benefits please visit the Guest Services Department upon arrival at your chosen attraction.

As the guest with the disability we ask that you bring with you a proof of disability, this can be a blue badge, benefits letter or a letter from your doctor. Then we are able to process your pass. You are required to pay the Individual rate, and with this we will give you a complimentary Individual Annual pass. The additional pass will not have a picture on it so that you are able to change your partner for each visit if required.

How do I renew my pass?

Once your 12 months has expired, you are able to renew your annual pass at any of the participating attractions. If you renew your pass within a month of it expiring then we are able to offer a discounted rate. For further information please check our price list.

This can be done through the contact centre via attraction telephone number or at the attraction.

To renew at an attraction all you need to do is bring in your expired annual pass to

  • Alton Towers Resort from 9th to 24th February or from 15th March
  • Madame Tussauds from 9th February
  • Warwick Castle from 9th February
  • SEA LIFE & Dungeons from 12th February
  • THORPE PARK from 16th February
  • The London Eye from 16th February
  • Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo from 10th March (park open 15th March)
  • LEGOLAND® Windsor from 15th March

We will take payment and re-issue the pass.

How long is my Annual Pass valid for?

Your annual pass is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please note that your annual pass will expire the day before you bought it the following year.

For example if you bought an Annual Pass on 20th July 2008 it will expire on 19th July 2009.

Are my visits restricted?

No, all our annual passes have unlimited entry into all participating attractions for the full 12 months of membership.

What do I do if my details change?

Don't worry, next time you visit the attraction that you purchased your pass, pop into our admissions department at the attraction where your pass was issued and they will happily update our records for you.

What do I do if I lose my Annual Pass or it gets stolen?

You need to visit your issuing attraction. The admissions team will look you up on the system and print you off a new card. Please note that an administration fee applies of £10 for each card reprinted. You will need to bring with you a form of photographic ID. Please note the fee still applies if your pass has been stolen.

Is my Annual Pass valid in the International Attractions?

The New Merlin Annual Pass is valid at UK attractions only.

Those with current & valid Tussauds Annual Passes please be advised that your pass is only valid for the following UK attractions: Alton Towers Resort, THORPE PARK, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo, Warwick Castle, The London Eye and Madame Tussauds . Please check their calendar for opening times.

Terms and Conditions

By using a Merlin Entertainments Group Individual Annual Pass or Family Annual Pass (“Annual Pass”) you accept these Terms and Conditions of use. Use of the Annual Pass is in accordance with the Park Regulations of each individual Attraction, copies of which are displayed at the Attractions or can be obtained online at www.merlinentertainments.biz or by telephoning 01202 666900 . However some of the Park Regulations are printed here::

AN ANNUAL PASS WILL ONLY BE VALID WHEN USED AND/OR PRESENTED BY THE NAMED HOLDER AND WHEN DISPLAYING A PHOTOGRAPH WHICH MUST BE A TRUE LIKENESS OF THE HOLDER.  MISUSE WILL RESULT IN THE ANNUAL PASS BEING WITHDRAWN.

  1. The Merlin Entertainments Group attractions that are part of the Annual Pass scheme are: Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND® Windsor, THORPE PARK, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo, Madame Tussauds (London), London Eye and Warwick Castle, SEA LIFE Centre & Sanctuaries and the Dungeons (“Attractions”).
  2. Each Annual Pass holder will be issued his or her own Annual Pass.
  3. A Family means two individuals (12 years of age and over) and two individuals (under 12 years of age), or one individual (12 years of age and over) and three individuals (under 12 years of age).  Each Family member will be issued his or her own Annual Pass.
  4. Annual Passes are non-transferable and cannot be sold or given away to a third party.
  5. The Annual Pass entitles the holder to admission to the Attractions for a period of 12 months from the date of issue (“Validity Period”).
    Please check individual attraction opening and closing dates before visit. The Merlin Entertainment Group, in its absolute discretion, reserves the right to vary the opening and closing dates of the Attractions. Please note that not all Attractions are open all year. The Merlin Entertainments Group reserve the right to close or remove entire or part of the Attractions, events or facilities with Attractions for any reason including (but not limited to) special events or private functions, or for technical, health and safety and/or operational reasons.
  6. An Annual Pass is not valid for any Merlin Entertainments Group concerts or special events held at any Attraction.
  7. An Annual Pass is only valid for daytime entry to Warwick Castle.
  8. An additional charge applies for Warwick Ghosts Alive at Warwick Castle and Chamber Live at Madame Tussauds London, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo Christmas Event opening, and any other events as determined by The Merlin Entertainments Group from time to time.
  9. Only valid for standard London Eye flights and excludes Valentines Day and also the Rivercruise.
  10. The authorised holder of the Annual Pass must show the Annual Pass at the admissions office of the relevant Attraction.
  11. Visitors under 12 years of age to Alton Towers Resort, THORPE PARK, Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo and Madame Tussauds (London) must be accompanied by an individual aged 18 years or over. Visitors to Warwick Castle, London Eye and Dungeons, under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an individual aged 18 years or over. Visitors under 14 years must be accompanied by a person aged 16 years or over at LEGOLAND Windsor.
  12. Visitors under 1 meter in height may enter Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo and THORPE PARK free of charge.  Visitors under 3 years of age may enter LEGOLAND Windsor free of charge. Visitors under 4 years of age may enter Alton Towers Resort, Warwick Castle free of charge.  Visitors under 5 years of age may enter Madame Tussauds (London) and London Eye free of charge.
  13. Photocopies of Annual Passes will not be accepted.
  14. All Annual Passes remain the property of The Merlin Entertainments Group and can be withdrawn at any time. Access may be denied to any or all Attractions in the event of fraud or misuse, and the Annual Pass can be withdrawn from any person whose conduct is deemed to be inappropriate at the absolute discretion of The Merlin Entertainments Group.  Inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to, allowing or assisting a third party to attempt to gain unauthorised or improper access to any Attraction with an Annual Pass of which they are not the valid holder.
  15. The management of the relevant Attraction reserves the right to refuse admission for any reason including full capacity.
  16. Failure to present a valid Annual Pass will result in a charge of the “on the day” admission rate applicable to the relevant Attraction, which will be non-refundable. Re-entry to the same Attraction on the same day requires a hand stamp.
  17. Annual Passes cannot be used in conjunction with any promotional offer, voucher or advance booking or with any other offer, discount or retail/restaurant incentive.
  18. Refunds are not available in any circumstances.  For the avoidance of doubt, the full value or any part of the value of the Annual Pass will not be refunded if any of the Attractions are no longer available or if any or part of the Attractions are removed or closed during the year.
  19. Lost Annual Passes should be reported to The Merlin Entertainments Group immediately.
  20. In the event of a lost Annual Pass The Merlin Entertainments Group will re-issue a replacement card.  Up to three replacement cards can be issued during the Validity Period. New cards will only be issued at the original issuing Attraction. An administration fee will be charged for re-issue of lost cards.
  21. Height, weight, size and age restrictions and medical warnings apply to certain rides and attractions. Some rides at LEGOLAND® Windsor will require visitors who only just meet the minimum height requirements to be accompanied by a person aged 16 years or over.
  22. The Merlin Entertainments Group is entitled, in its absolute discretion, to change the price payable for its Annual Pass at any time and for any reason
  23. On the presentation of an Annual Pass, Annual Pass holders may receive discounts and/or benefits from third parties. Such third parties are subject to change. The Merlin Entertainments Group is entitled to remove and/or withdraw any or all third party discounts and/or benefits in its absolute discretion at any time and for any reason.
